These two new full-time posts are available to be taken up by June 2023, for a maximum duration of four years and offer an exciting opportunity to develop research, teaching and clinical care in one of the above-mentioned specialties at Norwich Medical School (MED), in conjunction with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH).

We are seeking to appoint two Clinical Lecturers (Specialty Registrar level post MD/PhD by the start date) in Gastroenterology, Haematology, Respiratory or Cardiology.

The appointees will be encouraged to develop their own research portfolio, and initially they can support existing projects currently undertaken in the academic departments but with the ambition to establishing their own independent research.

The post holders will have skills, experience, and research interests in the field of specialty and a track record of publications.

The successful candidates will hold a PhD or MD (Res) prior to starting the Lectureship.  If at the time of the interview applicants have not been awarded a PhD/MD (Res) they are able to apply as long as they have attended their degree viva (by the interview date) and received no more than “minor corrections”.  They will need, however, to have been awarded the full degree prior to taking up the post, which needs to be done by June 2023.  If the successful candidate holds an NTN in an HEE region outside the East of England, then they will be offered a NTN in the East of England.

These posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child and Adult Barred Lists. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or vulnerable adults.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part-time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working.  Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.
