The College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (CHMLS) is one of three academic colleges in the University and comprises three departments: Health Sciences, Life Sciences and Brunel Medical School.
The Brunel Physician Associate (PA) MSc programme is now entering its sixth year of operation. It is currently within the Department of Health Sciences, which also offers a range of other professional programmes, including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Social Work. Brunel Medical School has recently established its MBBS programme, and welcomed its first cohort of medical students in September 2022. The PA programme will transfer to Brunel Medical School (BMS) in August 2023.
We are seeking to appoint a senior academic as Programme Lead. The appointed individual will be a Physician Associate, doctor, nurse or allied health professional, with experience of educational leadership and of multi-disciplinary working in the NHS.
As Programme Lead, the appointed individual will report to the Dean of Brunel Medical School, working closely with teams in the Medical School and in Health Sciences to oversee transfer of the PA programme to BMS, effecting changes required for GMC regulation, and championing interprofessional learning opportunities. The appointed individual will provide leadership, support and academic direction to the PA teaching team, ensuring high-quality programme delivery and an excellent student experience as the profession enters a new phase of GMC regulation.
