The School of Psychology is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Psychology with an expertise in social evolution.
The post is open to ambitious, research-driven individuals with a background in any area of social evolution, including evolutionary biology, cultural evolution, anthropology, behavioural ecology, psychology and behavioural economics. The capacity for candidates to demonstrate one or more of the following is a plus:
Candidates can work on any model species in the field, in captivity or in the lab, or run mostly theoretical work (e.g. agent-based models).
Candidates interested in field work and on primates will have access to the field site on Sulawesi Island (Indonesia), managed by Lincoln with Leipzig and Hasanuddin Universities, where we study the behaviour, cognition and conservation of moor macaques (https://macacamauraproject.blogs.lincoln.ac.uk/).
The successful candidate will have experience of researching in the area and should demonstrate a strong publication record (or the potential to publish in top-ranking journals), a potential for funding and an understanding of the current areas of research, theory, and practices.
The successful candidate must also hold a PhD in a relevant field and be willing to contribute to a thriving research culture in Psychology at The University of Lincoln. They should also possess the broad range of skills required to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Informal enquiries regarding this post can be directed to Professor Bonaventura (Bino) Majolo (bmajolo@lincoln.ac.uk).
