The University of Southampton is currently expanding its use of Microsoft Dynamics across the organisation. As part of this we are delighted to be growing our CRM technical support and development team.

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team to provide technical support, maintenance and development of our Dynamics platform.

This is an exciting time to join us our CRM team at an early stage and will be key in shaping how we develop the platform, support the users and how the team operates. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of activates from understanding the user needs, suggesting how and where the system can be improved and implementing these changes as part of our release cycle.

What you will do:

The successful candidate will work with our existing team to:

  • Liaise with our 3rd party development provider to specify and design future expansions and ensure they are fit for purpose and meet the University’s defined standards and system requirements
  • Understand the University’s requirements, ensuring that a full set of technical user stories is captured and understood by the 3rd party development partner
  • Understand and validate any work by the 3rd party partner
  • Keep an oversight of documentation and ensure that is maintained to our requirements, creating it where required if not covered by the 3rd party provider.
  • Work on day-to-day and minor break fix initially expanding to development of small-scale products as required and shape our future system development plans
  • 3rd/4th line user and technical support
  • Work with teams across the University to ensure the platform is fit for purpose and will meet the future needs of the organisation. 

What you will bring

  • Proven technical knowledge and experience of supporting Dynamics Customer Service and Marketing
  • Proven knowledge of Azure Admin Centre, PowerPlatform & Azure Active Directory
  • Experience of developing in Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Experience of working with Azure DevOps, SharePoint and other associated applications
  • Experience of testing Dynamics applications
  • Knowledge of integration platforms and API management
  • Knowledge of the wider Dynamics platform and a Microsoft SQL
