Location: Cambridge
Salary: £32,348 to £42,155
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract

Be a part of something amazing...

The Fitzwilliam Museum is entering the most exciting phase of its long history: a landmark transformation project to create a Fitz for the future that is inspiring, inclusive, scholarly and sustainable. The Museum Masterplan will develop and reinvigorate our spaces, connect with audiences onsite and digitally as never before, and revolutionise the ways our collections and research are experienced. Our Masterplan will be the forum through which we secure our future as a laboratory of ideas as well as the world's most significant university art collection.

The first phase of Masterplan feasibility work has been completed, and the museum is now working closely with the University Estates team, and colleagues across the Museum and the University, on the next stage. We now need to start building an internal client team to lead and support this programme of work.

The Masterplan Programme Manager is a new role to work alongside the Deputy Director, Masterplan, Exhibitions and Major Display Projects to lead the establishment and delivery of the Museum's Masterplan. The role holder will be central to leading and furthering the next stage of the Fitzwilliam Museum Masterplan. The role is varied, and will require a balance between rigorous planning, organising, documentation and reporting activities, with communication skills and appropriate methods of stakeholder engagement across a very broad range of internal and external contributors and decision makers, including major donors and the most senior levels in the Museum and the University.

We are seeking someone with expertise in project management and coordination ideally for a major project in a museum or heritage environment. Someone who has experience of project administration who is able to communicate with multiple stakeholders.

In return we offer an encouraging and supportive environment, an attractive pension scheme and many employee benefits such as a shopping discounts scheme.

In exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a supplement to the salary range stated for this role of up to 20%. Any such supplement would be awarded on the basis of a demonstrable history of outstanding achievement and an expected future level of contribution and is entirely at the discretion of the University.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 5 years in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.

Closing date for applications: 5th February 2023

Interview date: 20th February 2023
