By 2030, Warwick will be one of the world’s exceptional universities, helping to transform our region, country and world for the collective good. We do so by focusing on supporting our talented staff and students and giving them the freedom and best environments in which to flourish.
Warwick Institute of Engagement (WIE) is key to realising the University’s strategic goals for 2030 and beyond, and sits within the University’s Strategy Group, reporting to the University’s Registrar and the Vice-President for Engagement. WIE’s mission is both to improve how we involve the public, key influencers and decision makers in our pursuit of knowledge and understanding, and to make us all – staff and students – better at communicating the brilliant research we do. We do this by acting as a central hub for strategic discussion and co-ordination of the University’s engagement activities; building capacity and expertise amongst staff and students to communicate their work in the most compelling way possible; and creating the right opportunities for our staff and students to engage with regional, national and international groups.
Reporting to the WIE Associate Director, you will play a key role in WIE’s exciting mission.
You will be leading on the development of WIE’s Resonate Programme (https://warwick.ac.uk/wie/events/programme/ and https://www.resonatefestival.co.uk/). Resonate is an award-winning continual events programme that creates opportunities for Warwick’s staff and students to engage with a variety of people from our local and regional communities. These engagements may be around knowledge sharing, entertainment, learning or collaboration on research and community projects, anything from light-touch to intensive and long-term.
You will be organising events of all shapes and sizes, for all ages, both on-line and in person across our different regional communities, working with a wide range of people both inside the University and within the region. And as part of the WIE Team, you will also be supporting on the delivery of our wider WIE programme, liaising and working with WIE Fellows and Learning Circles, as well as academic and professional services departments across the University, to support the delivery of WIE’s strategy for public engagement.
This role is a good fit for you if you:
At Warwick, we believe that most exciting things in life are yet to be discovered. If you are looking to be part of, and help lead, a new team with an exciting vision for how universities should engage with the wider world, we would love to hear from you.
Interview Date: 28 February 2023.
