About the role:
The British Museum is seeking to recruit a Project Curator to undertake and develop research for the AHRC-funded ‘Digital technologies, Acheulean handaxes and the social landscapes of the Lower Palaeolithic’ project, led by Durham University and in partnership with UCL, through artefact analysis, fieldwork and publication.

About you:
The candidate should have a PhD in Palaeolithic archaeology or in a related field with experience of stone tool analysis and Palaeolithic research. They should have a good understanding of curation and working in museums and organising research in these environments. They should be familiar with 3D recording methods, organizing databases and long-term data storage. With experience of Palaeolithic fieldwork, they should have an understanding of organising and managing excavations, as well as post-excavation analyses and liaising with other specialists. A publication record in peer-reviewed journals is desired as first author or co-author.
