The National Centre for Computer Animation (NCCA) at Bournemouth University is the leading centre for teaching production and research in computer animation and digital effects. We are the holders of the Queen's Anniversary Prize for 'World Class' teaching in animation and VFX and have a long list of award-winning alumni with BAFTAs and Oscars for their contributions. The NCCA is based in the Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University, which is one of the largest of its kind in the world and has a global reputation for combining research and teaching practice. Students within the department have access to our industry-standard facilities including a 200msq soundstage studio, green screen studio, virtual production facilities and computer labs equipped with professional production software.
As a Senior Lecturer in Computer Animation, you would have a good knowledge of 3D Computer Generated Imagery Creation, using artistic and technical abilities in a range of areas such as modelling, shading, texturing, lighting and rendering, animation. You would also be confident to move across a wide range of software and able to share this knowledge with others.
Whilst previous teaching or training experience is desirable, it is more important to be enthusiastic about student-centered learning experience. You will contribute to education delivery and programme leadership as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also make a significant contribution to employability and help to further enhance the department’s professional networks.
