Change your career, change lives
The Open University is the UK’s largest university, a world leader in flexible part-time education combining a mission to widen access to higher education with research excellence, transforming lives through education.
Overview of the unit
The aim of the Research, Enterprise and Scholarship Unit (RES) is to facilitate the University's excellence in research, enterprise, scholarship and external engagement. The unit provides expert and strategic support services and works in support of Faculties, Schools and Institutes, as well as with a wide range of external partners, collaborators and funders, across the portfolio of the PVC (Research and Innovation).
The role
Based in the University’s central Research and Enterprise (R&E) Office and working with staff from across the University, the postholder will identify external funding opportunities for university research activities, have oversight of the R&E training and induction programme for researchers and research administrators, and support the development of high-quality applications, primarily for UK Research & Innovation (UKRI).
You will be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team with a keen interest to learn new skills and adapt methods to suit new situations. It should be noted that is not an academic /teaching position and there is no natural pathway from this post to an academic post.
Skills and experience
The full summary of duties and person specification can be found within the Job Description.
