Applications are invited for a 6 months research technician post at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS) at Imperial College London (http://lms.mrc.ac.uk/) to work in the Single Molecule Imaging group headed by Professor David Rueda.
We are looking for a creative, collaborative and reliable scientist who wants to support a diverse interdisciplinary research team that works on cutting edge single molecule imaging techniques to solve and understand fundamental molecular mechanisms.
The group’s current work focuses on visualising and understanding various cellular processes that are involved within the human cell. We are using molecular, biochemical and structural biology approaches to interrogate protein DNA interactions – followed with single molecule imaging to corroborate our findings. The 6-month post is a support role on ongoing work in the lab, in particular, the role will require the post holder to do extensive RNA biochemistry. For more detailed information about our work, please visit the group’s website (https://lms.mrc.ac.uk/research-group/single-molecule-imaging/).
Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, must have demonstrated record keeping skills. Candidates must be interested in RNA bioengineering and keen to broaden their expertise in a single molecule lab and help the development of clinical diagnostic tests.
The London Institute of Medical Sciences is funded by the MRC and is a Division of the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College. Based on the Hammersmith Hospital Campus in West London (W12), the LMS provides a thriving research environment with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including high-throughput sequencing and proteomics. For more information, visit www.lms.mrc.ac.uk.
