The role
In this role you'll lead on the Cambridge Open Days ¿ University-wide events for prospective Year 12 students and their parents and supporters. The events typically attract more than 25,000 visitors and run in a hybrid format, with online content alongside activities in Cambridge. You'll also lead on a new programme of events for teachers and advisers of prospective Cambridge students.
You'll line manage one Co-ordinator in the team and will support and shape their projects as well as leading on your own areas of work. This role also involves some travel around the UK where you'll be meeting prospective students and be able to network with colleagues working in the sector.
The UK and Events team
Our experienced and friendly team coordinate a wide variety of events and resources for prospective applicants, their parents and teachers in order to encourage applications to the University. We engage over 40,000 students and supporters each year through events such as Open Days and teacher conferences.
Beyond working on your specific projects, you'll work collaboratively with other members of the team on the varied range of events and activities we run, giving you a real insight into the full range of activities we offer.
This is a senior post in the team allowing you to support and develop team members and, working with the Deputy Head of Student Recruitment, identify new projects and shape the work of the team.
Our ideal candidate
You will have some experience of managing or supervising staff, volunteers or student ambassadors. You should have excellent organisational, problem solving and communication skills, and be able to manage your own workload.
