A highly skilled Management Accountant is required to join the Business Partner Operations team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a new role in the team responsible for providing financial support to the Faculties/Schools/Services teams, including externally funded research and commercial work. The role will provide some interesting and varied work and projects.
The purpose of this role is to provide the Finance Manager and other senior managers with financial and operational information and analysis to facilitate robust and critical decision making.
You will be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with a strong academic background with highly developed analytical skills and with the proven ability to explain financials to non-financial personnel. You will have advanced Excel skills. You will have strong accounting, organisational and planning skills.
You will be highly numerate with excellent attention to detail and an ability to understand and interpret financial and non-financial information from a variety of sources. You will possess excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and will couple this with a desire and ability to partner with colleagues (both finance and non-finance). You will have a continuous improvement mentality, willing to help seek efficiencies through improvement of current systems and processes. You will be an experienced and highly motivated individual with knowledge of working in a large complex organisation who is able to perform effectively under significant pressure, continuously working within tight deadlines and is expected to act independently with little direct supervision from their line manager.
