The University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School is searching for a postholder with significant experience of teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate business and management courses. The Lecturer will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated Lecturer able to undertake teaching involving tutorial and/or class teaching as required. This will likely involve working collaboratively across several Colleges within the collegiate university to ensure high-quality delivery to our students. This is a fixed term position (3 years) based at Park End Street, Oxford.
The post-holder is required to deliver teaching on the Schools education programmes. A candidate with an appropriate profile and experience may also be required to contribute to programme direction and coordination. They will provide teaching to undergraduate and graduate students in the School or a nominated College/s. The teaching load for this post is 400 stint points of which we expect no less than half of this this time being devoted to undergraduate teaching including tutorials. This will include undertaking marking, assessment and examination work and provision of timely feedback to students and other duties commensurate with the post.
The post-holder will be expected to provide pastoral support to students, liaising with other staff as required, supervise final year students preparing their dissertations in appropriate cases (if applicable) and assist with the organisation of teaching within the School. The successful candidate will have a PhD/DPhil within the relevant academic specialism. They will have the proven capacity to teach a broad range of subject matters, courses across a range of programmes, including undergraduate and postgraduate. They will demonstrate significant experience of leading and developing curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and commitment to delivering outstanding and innovative teaching.
The candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, excellent leadership skills including the ability to manage a complex set of relationships and diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of academic administration and organisational responsibilities, ideally within a HE environment and the ability to contribute to the wider academic profile of the School and to act as an ambassador.
