We are recruiting for a Systems Infrastructure Manager with experience in both managing physical and virtual infrastructures. The role is responsible for the maintenance, development and integration of the School’s core infrastructure services, systems and datacentres.
This includes our datacentre management, virtual and physical hosting, user-focussed file storage facilities, core cloud-hosted services, email, network storage including storage area networks (SANs), third-party and research systems, authentication services and all associated supporting management and monitoring.
The role will manage a small team of three to cover this wide area of activity in a dynamic and ever-changing higher education environment. Strategy and project planning are key activities along with resource planning and budget management.
You will hold a professional qualification or have equivalent experience to fulfil the demands of this role, along with extensive experience in management of enterprise grade systems, including VMware, Linux and Windows as primary platforms. Additionally, you will have hands-on experience of physical datacentre management and monitoring, including storage area networking and power and cooling regimes.
The post is full time and permanent.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 7 in the range £48,827 - £55,895 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
