Quality and Academic Development
Quality and Academic Development (QUAD) is a medium-sized team with wide-ranging areas of work. We are responsible for the operational management, support and development of academic standards and quality across the University, overseeing academic quality assurance functions such as course approval, monitoring and review. The team is also responsible for all course records held on University systems.

Academic Section/Academic Services
The Academic Section is part of the University’s Professional Services and is headed by the Academic Registrar. The Section is responsible for managing all aspects of student and academic administration and plays a central role in delivering the University’s commitment to excellence in education across the institution.
Duties of the Role
The Quality Assistant is a varied, fast-paced role and a vital member of the Quality and Academic Development team. The role holder provides administrative support across the team. They are the first point of contact and coordinator for our mailboxes and are responsible for scheduling and administrative preparations for meetings including formal committees and new course and periodic review events and providing support for these. The role also includes maintenance of records, databases and webpages for quality assurance and monitoring processes.
The Quality Assistant will work closely with the Quality Officer in several areas of their role and will be supported by the Quality Enhancement Manager. The successful candidate will receive a flexible training and induction programme alongside additional support whilst building the requisite knowledge and experience to complete their duties independently. The QUAD team are proactive in undertaking additional training and development opportunities as part of their roles and the Quality Assistant will also be encouraged to participate in further training opportunities which appeal to them. This is therefore an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in developing their career in administration.

Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will have a calm and professional approach and excellent communication skills. They will be able to work effectively with others across and beyond the team, while also demonstrating that they can work independently and manage competing priorities and tight deadlines. They will have recent administrative experience, strong IT skills and willingness and ability to try new methods and options and to contribute to improving processes.
