The University of Manchester invites applications to join a new research team formed to undertake research into post-qualification pharmacy workforce education and training. The post will be available immediately and will be tenable until 31 March 2024 in the first instance. Funding is available to undertake this post on a full-time or part-time basis.
The successful applicants will join the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) in the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry, and will work on a range of projects to meet short and medium- term research objectives exploring postgraduate pharmacy education to support post-qualification pharmacy workforce education and training reform, essentially ensuring that education provision and commissioning is:
Development work and evaluation/research findings will be widely (nationally and internationally) disseminated, including in academic peer-reviewed publications, ensuring a contribution to the slowly growing evidence base on pharmacy workforce and education and training underpinning this.
This post will involve delivery of projects in a timely and rigorous fashion and to a strict timetable and budget. This will involve liaison with the project team and wider external collaborators.
The focus for the role is on educational research and we are keen to engage those with an applied social science background, educational researchers and broader health and social care sciences. You will have an applied-research masters qualification and a doctorate qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable. You will have previous experience in qualitative and quantitative (mixed methods) research, including the use of appropriate software packages for data analysis (e.g. NVivo, SPSS). Those applying for the research fellow role will have evidence of attracting research funding and publishing papers in high quality peer reviewed journals.
