Department
The Department of Psychology is a large and vibrant Department in the Faculty of Science and Health. We occupy purpose built facilities including laboratories and state of the art research equipment. We offer an excellent education to our students, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees accredited by the British Psychological Society. The Department is continuing to grow and has a dynamic and friendly professional services team.
Duties of the Roles
The Department has two exciting new Assessment Co-ordinator positions. The main function of these varied roles is to ensure the smooth running of student exams, in-class tests and coursework in the Department of Psychology. You will support our student facing Senior Student Administrators, ensuring that student records are accurate and that students are offered an excellent customer service experience. You will liaise with members of academic staff and central teams, ensuring that colleagues are equipped with efficient IT processes and up to date university policy. You will plan for year-round board of examiner meetings, supporting their delivery. You will work flexibly across all year groups, with one position focusing primarily on our Post Graduate Taught students. You will be hybrid working with two to three days a week on campus, according to business need.
Skills and qualifications required
You will have excellent computer literacy skills as the work requires mastery of several online, bespoke packages and the development of new IT techniques to solve problems. You will be able to research, understand and train others in university policy. Working autonomously, you will be able to prioritise multiple demands at busy times. You will enjoy communicating with academic staff and professional services colleagues across the whole organisation. You will have a good understanding of Higher Education systems and structures and the ability to learn, synthesize and to apply complex information quickly and fairly. You will have administrative experience in a complex environment, an eye for detail, a real flair for IT and a passion for delivering a high quality, professional service.
