Lancaster University Leipzig wishes to appoint an Assistant Professor equivalent to lecturer (Teaching and Research) or lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) in Management. The candidates will have a PhD (or be close to completing one) and be able to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate/MSc levels, in areas that complement or overlap with the current interests and requirements of the Organisation, Work and Technology department of Lancaster University Management School.

This post arises as a result of international teaching and research activities, which the successful applicant will need to help deliver. Specifically, Lancaster University has established an exciting new campus in Leipzig, Germany. Located in one of Germany’s most vibrant, liveable, and attractive cities, the Leipzig campus offers the same academic quality and fully rounded student experience as in the UK, with a strong strategic vision of excellence in teaching, research, and engagement. The post holder will be based on the Leipzig campus, and will involve teaching, research, engagement and administrative responsibilities. The Department of Organisation, Work and Technology at Lancaster University Management School is involved in a number of research areas related to Management, Human Resources and Leadership. Since its inception, the department has been defined by three distinctive, key features: interdisciplinarity; a critical perspective on the study of organisations and management; and the refusal to simplify social phenomena, instead embracing their complexity to produce meaningful and reflective analysis. The group collaborates with researchers in other departments/faculties at Lancaster University, including through a number of research centres, such as the centre for Technology Futures at the Lancaster Campus. The successful candidate will be member of this vibrant research community.

Please note this role a full time, indefinite post based in Leipzig, Germany and ideally we would like the appointed candidate to start at latest on 1st September 2023.
