About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious postdoctoral researcher to develop water repellent (Superhydrophobic) coatings for real-world application. Using a polymer-nanocomposite formulation approach for the design of materials able to perform to industrial specifications on an industrial scale. The researcher will work closely with a range of industrial collaborators throughout the project.
About You
You should have an excellent academic record, proven academic writing ability, attention to detail and strong communication skills. You should hold a PhD (or close to completion) in materials science/engineering, materials chemistry, or a similar discipline and experience in coatings formulation and/or water repellent surfaces.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full-time (35 hours per week), a fixed-term appointment for 9 months (with a planned 9-month contract extension during the initial contract), with an expected start date of April 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £36,348 - £42,592 per annum pro-rata, inclusive of London Allowance.
