The School of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a School Communications Officer. This is a vital role in which the role holder will be responsible for school level communications to staff and students across the School of Health Sciences in delivering the various key activities delivered by the school.
The role requires the role-holder to work independently and pro-actively with the Schools Senior Management Team to ensure that the communications delivered is line with the School’s strategic objectives and is tailored for the relevant audiences. This includes managing all-staff & student communications, social media and responsibility for internal-facing communications channels. This role will involve the development and management of systems, digital channels and events as required.
The role-holder will be an expert in the use and development of communication channels, as well as provide support to content providers in their use of the same and will work flexibly according to the ongoing demands of the job and responsibilities at this level.
You must have experience of producing, writing and editing contents and published materials to strict deadlines, attention to detail and accuracy in work and ability to manager own workload. You will also have experience of social and digital media in relation to communications work.
This is a fixed-term maternity leave position for a period of 1 year. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time at a minimum of 21.75 hours per week.
