Applications are invited for an exciting new opportunity at Bangor Business School to lead the Banking and Economics areas.
Bangor has a long-established reputation for banking research, and is currently ranked highest of all UK Universities in the RePEc rankings for the field of Banking. From September 2022, the School reintroduced a single honours undergraduate programme in Economics as we seek to expand our student numbers in this core subject area.
The School is seeking to appoint a senior level academic to reinvigorate and lead the Banking area and to drive growth across the wider Economics discipline. Successful candidates will be expected to provide leadership for the combined Banking and Economics group and continue the growth of an attractive portfolio of banking, finance, fintech and economics offerings that will continue to attract home and overseas students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Candidates should be outstanding scholars with an excellent teaching and research record, and clearly defined research plans for the next REF. The successful candidate will have substantial teaching experience in HE and evidence of high level quality publications in the field of Banking and/or Economics, as well as a successful record in significant grant capture. They will be expected to lead and be part of influential national and international networks in the field of Banking and/or Economics.
Interested applicants are warmly invited to contact the Head of School, Professor Bruce Vanstone (b.vanstone@bangor.ac.uk) for informal discussion.
The successful candidate is expected to commence as soon as possible.
Applications will only be accepted via our on-line recruitment website, jobs.bangor.ac.uk. However, in cases of access issues due to disability, paper application forms are available by telephoning 01248 383865.
Closing date for applications: 1st March 2023.
