About the Role
The University currently has 15 Degree Apprenticeships being delivered, across both Level 6 (undergraduate) and Level 7 (postgraduate). As an Apprenticeship Tutor you will be responsible for an allocation of apprentices across a range of different Apprenticeship Standards within Cranfield Defence and Security (CDS). Currently at CDS we offer apprenticeships in Systems Engineering, Systems Thinking, Explosive Ordnance, and Senior Leader.
You will provide individually tailored support for each student and their employer to enable the student to translate their academic learning to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the Apprenticeship standard. You will be both able to coach and support apprentices across a range of sectors, as well as assess and advise on submission against the requirements of the End Point Assessments.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and capable individual to help, guide and advise apprentices through the full life cycle of their apprenticeship from enrolment to successful completion. The role will involve working with employers, using your experience and influence to ensure the necessary training, time and resources are in place to support the apprentice through their apprenticeship.
You will also actively contribute to the ongoing development of the Tutor provision, working closely with Course Directors and across University departments.
About You
You will have a degree or equivalent experience in business, coaching or similar subjects. Experience of teaching and/or assessing within a work-based learning degree programme or apprenticeship scheme, or experience of tutoring/coaching at a management level in a work-based learning environment is essential.
You will also have demonstratable experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines, while balancing competing priorities.
A relevant apprenticeship assessor qualification is desirable.
