The School of Law seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Just Transition.
The School of Law has a well-established commitment to research and teaching across the themes of social justice, ESG, CSR, climate change and sustainability. A new Just Transition research cluster was established in 2022, which brings together academics and policymakers from a wide range of interests and backgrounds. This exciting new post, focusing on Just Transition, is designed to further enhance this important area of School and interdisciplinary activity.
This post offers the opportunity to strengthen both our research and teaching focus on this theme. Social Justice is already an established theme across research (e.g. The Scottish Civil Justice Hub) and teaching (the LLM in Human Rights starting in September 2023 and various LLM and Honours courses focusing on ESG, CSR, climate change and sustainability). A Just Transition post will further broaden the focus, linking to labour law, international law, corporate & financial law and environmental law. It is designed to facilitate research collaboration within and beyond the School of Law, and to support our expanding range of experiential learning opportunities.
Applications are invited from a wide range of legal scholars, domestic or international.
The School of Law is a centre for innovative world leading research and excellence in education. We are proud to be an international law school with a rich heritage. Law was one of the four original faculties established by the University upon its founding in 1451. The subject has been taught continuously since 1714. Today, we teach students from over 30 countries with a staff from across the world.
