The School of Art and Design is seeking to recruit two enthusiastic and ambitious design practitioners to join our team of academics delivering programmes in Interior Architecture and Design. We have two posts open to applications, with one prioritising undergraduate provision and the other focussed on our growing postgraduate programme. Applicants will be considered for both roles, but candidates are welcome to specify a preference should they wish.
The successful candidates will lead in the development and delivery of teaching and learning on our undergraduate or postgraduate programmes, and contribute to the developing profile of the discipline across levels.
Applicants should demonstrate a wide range of design experience, with evidence of engagement of HE teaching in design contexts and ideally supporting learning in industry settings. They should have a proven track record of leading and delivering a first-class student experience within Higher Education. Experience of education innovation would be advantageous.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate an impressive engagement of work and/or professional creative practice. The post-holder should be actively engaged in research, professional creative practice and/or income generation and must have a proven track record of exploring new and emerging modes of practice and scholarship.
Applicants should be qualified at least to Master’s Level (or of equivalent professional status) and be able to relate the key debates framing the location and transformation of interior design in contemporary culture and to UK Higher Education.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate high level digital fluency and a continuing engagement with professional, scholarly and pedagogic development. Those without a teaching qualification will be required to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE or secure a HEA fellowship.
