An Assistant Professor position is available immediately for a highly motivated candidate to join the Center for Radiological Research (crr.columbia.edu) in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Columbia University’s Irving Medical Center.
Two major NIH-funded project areas are available, and the candidate could work on one or both of these: The first uses gene-expression-based approaches to understand and predict individual responses after exposures to radiation. The second project is focused on exciting approaches for curing hard-to-treat cancers using new types of particle radiotherapy. The projects involve collaborations with the unique facilities at Columbia’s Mouse Hospital (www.olivelab.org) and Columbia’s Radiological Research Accelerator Facility (www.raraf.org).
This is an outstanding opportunity to work with investigators in leading radiation biology and pancreatic cancer laboratories, with the potential to establish independence and convert to tenure track.
