About us
The aim of the project is to develop the foundations of quantum computational advantage. In particular, the aim is to gain a systematic understanding of the use of non-classical features of quantum mechanics, such as contextuality, to obtain quantum advantage in a range of computational tasks. An important theme within this is to develop the understanding of contextuality in combination with causality.
About the role
This position is associated with the FoQaCiA project on Foundations of Quantum Computational Advantage. This is part of a Canada/EU Horizon project being funded by UKRI/Innovate UK under the Horizon guarantee. This is led by Professor Samson Abramsky in the Department of Computer Science at UCL.

The people appointed to these positions will work with the PI to develop these ideas, contributing both foundational ideas and results, and applications to a range of concrete settings.
While the main emphasis of the project is foundational and mathematical, the development of software to explore and illustrate the ideas is also envisaged.
