Estates and Campus Services
Estates and Campus Services design, repair, maintain and secure all campuses. We aim to provide a seamless service to all students, staff and visitors. Covering a multitude of services, we are available to assist with any issue concerning the University estate and facilities, safety, security and welfare of student’s staff and visitors to campus.
We are currently seeking a number of Patrol Officers for the Security Team. This post will be on annualised hour’s contracts.
Duties of the Role
This post will involve ensuring the welfare, safety and security of a diverse campus population, undertaking a wide range of duties within the University Campus and externally to University owned and administered properties.
Responsibilities will include responding to enquiries in person, by phone or email, liaising with other University Sections, providing first aid, mental health support and pastoral care to students and staff, attending emergency situations, fire alarm activation and evacuations, dealing with conflict situations and patrolling and securing the University campus.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will have a first aid qualification, training in mental health first aid and training in conflict management and physical intervention, or will be willing to undergo training in order to achieve these qualifications and requirements.
You will ideally have previous experience of providing a security and welfare support service, have experience in working in a customer focused environment, be able to remain calm and professional under pressure and you will have the ability to deal with conflict situations with confidence.
