A great new opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Planning Analyst to work within the Planning Insights & Analytics Directorate at the University of Glasgow. This role, reporting to the Head of Strategic Planning, will sit at the heart of the University drawing upon a highly analytical skillset combined with strategic thinking to drive innovation and improvements across our planning and budgeting.
These are new roles to the Planning function and will require individuals who are able to provide high quality analysis, develop key insights for decisions makers and present these in an engaging and accessible manner. The role provides an opportunity to demonstrate creativity, flexibility and credibility to quickly establish trust and support for this new approach. You will have the intellect and capability to bring new ideas and innovative ways of working with College management and Schools, and sharing best practice across the team. You will be expected to influence and lead the agenda with authority, to support evidence-based decision-making, working at the highest level of senior leadership and management. You will lead on ensuring data quality assurances and processes are robust and in place.
Your role will vary - from supporting student intake planning to undertaking strategic competitor analysis, performance insights, and providing evidence relating to growth opportunities. You will do this through supporting innovative approaches to data-driven decision making. You will be a strategic thinker highly capable of joining the dots to see the bigger picture considering all facets of growth, competitiveness, quality of teaching provision, student experience and reputation.
You will be a driven, pro-active individual who will be responsible for keeping abreast of sector wide and university planning and policy developments to providing timely and relevant insight and advice to college management. Striving to understand market challenges and competitive issues associated with College plans and being able to provide data, evidence and insight to shape and inform priorities is critical.
As the key point of contact between central services and the College, you will possess excellent communication skills and an outstanding ability to work in partnership with a range of colleagues across the University.
