This is a career-defining opportunity at the heart of the Department of Applied and Human Sciences. You will plan, deliver and assess across a range of sport and exercise science modules (L3-6); which will be focused on leading health/ exercise physiology at level 5 and especially a sport nutrition module at level 6.
In addition to key theoretical concepts, you will offer scientific laboratory skills using a variety of technologies and approaches to deliver a vibrant education to your students that can be translated into real-world skills. Working side-by-side with talented colleagues you will be expected to contribute to duties related to course administration, share knowledge and expertise through professional consultancy and where practicable pursue opportunities that will generate profitable income. Research is, naturally, a key part of our make-up and you will supervise UG student projects through their entire cycle.
The Person
You will hold a PhD in Sport Nutrition/Exercise Physiology (or a closely related area) and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science/Nutrition (or closely related subject) and bring some experience of teaching to undergraduate students.
A successful accreditation or record of research and/or consultancy in relevant academic discipline(s) SENR and BASES is desirable. You are also encouraged to undertake your own research challenges, developing proposals to producing outputs for publication.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained).
For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.
