The Rosalind Franklin Institute is the UK’s national Research Centre for the use of Physical Sciences to understand Biology. It is funded by the UK government through UK Research and Innovation, dedicated to bringing about transformative changes in life science through interdisciplinary research and technology. As a technical specialist within the Rosalind Franklin Institute, you will help establish, maintain, and develop its high-throughput discovery laboratory. You will contribute to and advise on scientific projects, train researchers in the use of equipment, support data analysis, and oversee equipment operation and maintenance.
Your primary task will be to manage the high-throughput discovery facility and facilitate its integration with other research activities at the Franklin. The laboratory integrates instrumentation for automated microscale chemical synthesis, reaction analysis, product purification and formatting, and biological evaluation in various functional in vitro and cellular formats. You will manage the instrumentation and develop methods that can support each of these stages within molecular discovery workflows. You will support other scientists to use the laboratory to support research at the Franklin, and to capture and analyse the data generated. You will scope and lead the expansion of methods that allow greater integration with novel biological function.
