The Alan Turing Institute is the UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence whose mission is to make great leaps in data science and artificial intelligence research in order to change the world for the better.
ROLE PURPOSE
We are looking to appoint 3 Research Associates to The Science of Cities and Regions Programme.
You will look for opportunities to focus on specific datasets and problems e.g. working with partners to discover the novel added value to inform interventions and policy planning decisions. You will have unique opportunities to work with the Data and Digital teams in government and other national and local agencies with a strong social impact agenda e.g. in relation to net zero or levelling up communities.

You should have PhD or equivalent level of professional experience in geography or a related discipline and skills and experience in the analysis of spatial data and in the manipulation of spatial data

Terms and Conditions

Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant at a salary of £38,236 per annum
The Alan Turing Institute is based at the British Library, in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter.
We are currently assessing the results of our hybrid working trial, which ran for six months. We will soon publish a long-term workplace policy: as a guide, we anticipate this will be between 2-4 days per month. Some roles may require the jobholder to spend a greater number of days in the office, the hiring manager will be able to confirm this during the interview
