Founded in 1837, the Royal College of Art is the world’s largest community of postgraduate art and design students. Applications are invited for a Digital and Service Design Graduate Research Associate. This project is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between the Royal College of Art and Ogilvy Health to develop a unique Digital Graphic Design System that will allow doctors to read and understand new medical data quickly and easily, on digital devices. It will help these doctors make more informed decisions with their patients about different treatment options.

Service Design Programme, School of Design 

The Service Design Programme is the world leading Service Design Masters course. With over 150 students each year, graduates shape service experiences for commercial and public sector organisations from financials services, healthcare, technology, government and the public sector.

Ogilvy Health (the business partner)

Ogilvy Health is the specialist health division of Ogilvy, recognised by the World Advertising Research Council as the most creative network in the world, for the third year running. The agency provides pioneering medical education and marketing services to some of the world’s leading health and pharmaceutical companies. Its ethos is borderless creativity.

The KTP Research Associate will be tasked with 

  • Developing and delivering a new and integrated approach for a Digital Graphic Design System that makes the visual representation of medical data in journals and associated pharmaceutical company communications, easy to read and easy to understand.
  • The system will be designed to incorporate a range digital devices, especially the smartphone to facilitate optimum experiences for doctors
  • Embedding new graphic design knowledge within the business that will augment the business' expertise in medical education, enhance its reputation for creative communications, and align with its ethos of borderless creativity
