About the roleWe are seeking a Research Associate to join our School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, with a research focus on edge analytics and distributed artificial intelligence. Alongside research, you will be assisting in the grant proposals and collaborating with industry in this area. This will include responsibility for fostering external industrial and academic collaborations by demonstrating project prototypes, proof of concept demonstrations and engaging in wider industry projects. You will also be helping to write research grants for funding agencies and commercial enterprises. This work will contribute to the university's research profile by boosting the productivity of the research group, giving technical assistance and support to create grant proposals, patents, and publications.
About youFor this role, you should have strong expertise and experience in machine learning and edge enhanced distributed systems. You must be able to analyse large sets of data, produce mathematically sound algorithms and provide system tools for edge enhanced machine learning algorithms in near real time. You should have achieved or be working towards a PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics or electrical engineering.
