The Strategy, Operations, and Entrepreneurship (SOE) Group within the School has an international reputation for its cutting-edge research and education. The School is undertaking a major expansion of SOE’s teaching and research activities, accelerating its growth and development. We offer a range of exciting and creative postgraduate and undergraduate programmes with a strong emphasis on Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Innovation, International Business, International Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
The appointment of either a Senior Lecturer or Reader will enable the continued growth of the SOE Group.
Duties of the Role
This new post will enhance the School’s research profile in International Business and Strategy, strengthen yet further the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students, contribute to the supervision of research students, and extend the School’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally through activities such as publishing in top peer-reviewed journals and presenting papers at prestigious conferences.
Duties will include developing and extending a clear research agenda that results in internationally excellent publications and that attracts external funding; engaging effectively in substantive teaching and learning support roles in the School; contributing to the design, planning and delivering of modules and programmes of study in creative and innovative ways; and supervising and mentoring postgraduate research students.

Qualifications and Skills required
Applicants should have a relevant doctoral level research degree in Strategy / International Business, or related discipline or have equivalent professional experience.
Evidence of a research agenda, engagement in high-quality research activity and a strong research profile, with a clear publication plan for submission to future REF assessments are essential, as is proven experience in teaching well at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. You will have experience of successfully mentoring other colleagues. You should have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to be able to disseminate knowledge and research to the wider academic community
You should have generated income to support research and/or knowledge exchange appropriate to your career stage and discipline norms.
As part of the process and to be successful you will be required to demonstrate how you your research has been impactful within and beyond the academic sphere, recognising the importance of this and the effect it will have on the University.
