The Department of Physics seeks to appoint an STFC-funded postdoctoral research fellow to work at the Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics (University of Warwick, UK). The role will focus on helioseismology and/or asteroseismology. One of the main aims of the funded project is to study the impact of magnetic activity on oscillations and so those with experience in asteroseismic/helioseismic data analysis and/or the modelling solar-like oscillations are encouraged to apply. We also encourage applications from those with experience studying solar and stellar magnetic activity. The successful applicant will also act as the team’s computing officer, for example purchasing new equipment and ensuring data analysis codes are robust and efficient. You will work with Dr Anne-Marie Broomhall, and other members of CFSA.
You will be an excellent communicator, capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a research team. You will possess excellent planning and time management skills to ensure your research objectives are achieved effectively.
If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the level 6 of the University grade structure.
Please direct all informal inquiries to Anne-Marie Broomhall (a-m.broomhall@warwick.ac.uk)
Interview date: TBC.
