As Research Publications Analyst you will be integral to the advancement of education and research through the analysis of research performance and trends that will support our researchers in achieving the aims of our University Research Strategy.

If you have experience of high-level reporting, a flair for data analysis and an enjoyment of working effectively with stakeholders on tricky questions and you want to be part of something bigger, make vital contributions to important work, study and research then this could be a great opportunity for you.

Working here you would 

  • work across the University with colleagues from the Library, Professional Services, the Research Community and External Bodies,
  • provide high-level expertise centred around publishing/citation metrics to the University’s researchers, aligned with the University’s Strategy,
  • be responsible for the delivery of an exemplary research information and analytical service to inform the University’s strategy in this area,
  • identify methodologies and algorithms to inform citation approaches,
  • use analytical tools to visualise, map and benchmark the quality of the University’s research,
  • lead on bibliometrics modelling; advocating and informing an understanding of research information metrics,
  • develop, evaluate and deliver skills training to the University’s academic research community.

Ideally you will 

  • be an experienced user of databases, complex spreadsheets and bibliometrics,
  • have proven communication and interpersonal skills,
  • enjoy working effectively and collegiately within academic and professional service communities and networks,
  • be familiar with research information management systems and current academic publishing,
  • have a strong understanding of both the research environment within Higher Education and recent developments in the sector relating to open research.

You will join a dedicated, expert professional team, committed to the continual development of services to support the University’s strategy: to deliver world-class research and teaching, extend the University’s international influence, and enrich the student experience. We understand and support the importance of continued professional development to achieve this. 

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term basis with an expected duration of 2 years.
