Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in applied health research? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Research Fellow to work on a charity-funded research study developing a remote osteoarthritis peer-mentorship programme for people experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage. This is an exciting and novel project focusing on musculoskeletal inequalities by working with communities and people experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage to understand engagement issues with a remote peer-mentorship intervention. We will develop the remote osteoarthritis peer-mentorship intervention; train volunteers to deliver the intervention and assess its acceptability and other implementation issues for this target group.

You will work closely with members of the project team and lead on project activities, including recruitment, data collection and analyses of both qualitative and quantitative data.

You will have experience of working in applied health research and the ability and desire to use your skills to improve care and service delivery for individuals with musculoskeletal conditions. You will also have experience of co-ordinating research studies, and a proven track record in developing and maintaining good working relationships with community organisations, clinical colleagues and other study stakeholders. This post is based within the School of Healthcare and involves working with colleagues in the School of Psychology (University of Leeds) and the University of Aberdeen.

You will have a first degree and a Master’s degree with a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in a subject area relating to health services research/applied health research/social care. You will also have relevant musculoskeletal and/or long-term conditions research experience in an academic or other relevant health care setting.
