Background
The Department of Mathematics includes 18 permanent staff. We are engaged in research across pure and applied mathematics and mathematical physics. In the last Research Excellence Framework, 97% of Mathematics outputs were rated as either world-leading or internationally excellent and Mathematics ranked 11th in the UK for research impact. The Department runs four BSc undergraduate programmes in Mathematics, Mathematics with Data Science, Mathematics and Finance, and Mathematics with Finance and Economics as well as an MSc in Mathematics and in Mathematics with Data Science, and a Foundation Year programme.
