The City Law School is the first in London and the only in the University of London to educate students and practitioners at all stages of legal education. It has a professional education pedigree that dates back over 100 years. The School has made significant advances in both research and education and seeks to build upon that success to become one of the UK’s leading law schools as it takes advantage of the new regulatory landscape for legal education.
An opportunity has arisen for a Course Officer to join us on a fixed term contract for 12 months maternity cover. The postholder will be responsible for the Graduate Diploma in Law and Graduate Entry LLB degree programmes.
Responsibilities
The appointed Course Officer will report in to the Senior Course Officer and will be a key member of The City Law School Student and Academic Administration Services team. They will play an important role in providing a wide range of administrative services to academic staff and students, with a particular focus on GDL and GELLB. The successful candidate will manage the administration of admissions for the GDL and will also help coordinate and assist as necessary across other degree programmes within the School.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent and have relevant experience of working in a busy customer focused environment; previous experience of working in Higher Education and admissions is preferred. They should be confident in the use of IT systems, including MS office packages, spreadsheets and databases. Experience of Moodle and knowledge of student records systems (particularly SITS) is highly desirable. The successful candidate will have well-developed verbal and written communication skills and committed to delivering high quality services to students and staff.
