Background
The School of Science and Technology is a multi-disciplinary centre of research and education located in the heart of London’s vibrant design community.
The Department of Computer Science has over 580 undergraduate students and over 340 masters and more than 60doctoral research students. It has over 50 academic members of staff. The Department has a long tradition of excellence in research and education and continuously improves the content of its programmes. The research in the department is primarily performed in its five constituent research centres: the Adaptive Computing Systems and MachineLearning research centre (ACS-ML), the Artificial Intelligence research centre (CitAI), the Centre for HCI Design (HCID), Centre for Software Reliability (CSR), giCentre (Data Visualization & Visual Analytics).
Responsibilities
We are seeking to appoint for two Lecturer in Computer Science roles. The appointed candidates will be required to build on our results from REF 2021 and further strengthen our education programmes. We expect the two new colleagues to join the Artificial Intelligence research centre (CitAI).
Appointees will be expected to perform excellent research in areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and provide an excellent educational experience to our students across the range of programmes and modules that are delivered by the Department of Computer Science.
Person Specification
Applicants should have a PhD in Computer Science. They will have an internationally recognised reputation in research in areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning or related fields. They will also have significant experience of delivering outstanding education and supporting student's learning in Computer Science subjects.
