UCL's Doctoral School & Early Career Research (ECR) Staff situated within the Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement) supports over10,000 researchers, making it the largest provider of postgraduate research training in the UK.
UCL Doctoral School & Early Career Research Staff focuses on policy and strategy for doctoral education and development of early career research staff, working with academic faculties on their strategies, and monitoring their implementation and performance. It is responsible for developing a vision for the UCL doctoral and post-doctoral experience and defining the most appropriate model for training.
About the role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to support Widening Participation in the postgraduate research space which is a relatively new area in the sector, driven by funding from Research England (a grant which you would help administer). Further, you would be able to extend and apply good practice for recruitment and student experience across our funding portfolio and beyond, becoming a key implementer in diversifying our talent pipeline.
You will work in a small, collaborative and innovative team who are committed to providing a modern and inclusive research training environment.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

About you
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in Widening Participation and/or Research Culture issues. They will have skills in project management and the ability to negotiate with and influence a range of stakeholders in a tactful manner. They will also ideally have knowledge or experience of the research student funding landscape and with supporting doctoral researchers within this environment.
