This is a joint post across two Faculty Education teams, supporting both the Faculty of Population Health Sciences (FPHS) and the Faculty of Brain Sciences (FBS).
FPHS is one of the two leading Population Health Schools in the UK and top among Russell Group universities as demonstrated by the Research Excellence Framework 2014 results. We have over 1400 undergraduate, masters and PhD students across the seven Institutes that make up our Faculty, studying on more than 30 programmes.
FBS is a global leader in pioneering research as reflected in the UK’s Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021). Our Faculty brings together areas that include psychology, psychiatry, prion diseases, ophthalmology and vision, language sciences, audiology, deafness and hearing, neurology and related basic neuroscience. Over 2000 undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD students across the 9 Institutes and Divisions make up our Faculty studying on more than 50 programmes.
About the role
This post is designed to support the governance and development of education across two Faculties. Working as part of both Faculty Education Teams, as well as colleagues in the sixteen departments across both Faculties and the central Student Records team, the post holder will play a key role in delivering our vision of an excellent education for all students in the Faculties, by providing professional administrative support to progress students from admissions and enrolment, through to module selection, examinations and awards.

As a member of the Faculty Education Teams a key purpose of the role will be to improve the quality of student and curriculum data held in Portico and support an enhanced Student Records service for the Faculties.
The post will also strengthen connections between the Faculties and their Institutes and Divisions and UCL’s Student Records team.
On a day-to-day basis, the role-holder will work closely with a variety of staff from across the Faculties – both academic and professional services – to ensure that departments within the Faculties are aware of their responsibilities, and that appropriate data are gathered to ensure that the student records are appropriately managed.
The Student Records Liaison Officer will work closely with the Faculty Tutors, but with a dotted reporting line to the Head of Education and Student Experience (Faculty of Population Health Studies) and Faculty Education and Student Experience Manager (Faculty of Brain Sciences).

About you
The role requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL, so demands a professional attitude, willingness to help and a positive outlook to execute the duties outlined.
You should have previous higher education administrative experience and significant knowledge of working with student records systems (like SITS).
This role requires a good understanding of governance and quality assurance in Higher Education, and experience of providing sound regulatory advice. You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills, and be able to develop new processes for working more efficiently.
