The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is a research institute within UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). UKRI is an entitythat brings together nine partnersto create an independent organisation with a strong voice for research and innovation, more information can be found at www.ukri.org.
We seek to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to the Division of Structural Studies to undertake cryo-EM and cryo-ET projects to understand the mechanism of chromosome segregation in eukaryotes, with a focus on the kinetochore-centromere alpha-satellite arrays of human kinetochores.
The position is funded for three years initially and is available from 1st June 2023. The position is located at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK within the group of David Barford.
The successful applicant will hold a PhD in a relevant subject or be due to complete within 6 months. Experience with electron either cryo-electron microscopy or cryo-tomography is essential.

The successful applicant will be awarded a 3-year Career Development Fellowship/ Postdoctoral Training Scheme position. This is a training and development position for a Postdoctoral Scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, is moving into a new research discipline or has limited experience of key transferable skills. The MRC LMB has excellent scientific core facilities and training opportunities.
