Job Details
A Senior Research Assistant (Flow Cytometry) position is immediately available at the ICR Flow Cytometry Facility. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the facility. This includes instrument maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting, cell analysis and cell sorting, user training, panel design, protocol optimization and data analysis support and generally assisting researchers with expert technical advice. The role is central to working towards a high-end cytometry user community (including CyTOF) which involves elements of project and facility management.
Key Requirements
Applicants should ideally have a BSc/MSc in biological sciences and have excellent laboratory and analytical skills. Experience of running high end multi-colour flow cytometry instruments (analysers and cell sorters) and other relevant molecular biology techniques. You will have excellent attention to detail. Given the dynamic role the successful candidate will have excellent communication, team working and IT skills, be pragmatic and flexible and be able to work under pressure, independently and prioritize work. Experience with the CyTOF/Hyperion or similar systems, working in and managing a research support environment and analysis of spatial data would be advantageous.
