We are looking for a new research nurse to join our team. The Cambridge Centre for Frontotemporal Dementia brings together leading clinicians, nurses and scientists focusing on the problems faced by patients with frontotemporal dementia, including behavioural, language, and motor syndromes. Better diagnosis and better treatments are our goal.
You will play a critical role in in clinical services and patient-based research studies; and take a leading role in patient screening, recruitment, consent, assessment (neuropsychological and phlebotomy), and support good governance. You will be working with a trial coordinator and clinical team, in liaison between patients, carers, health care professionals, researchers and other bodies.
You will work within our group of specialist research nurses in support of diverse research studies, which have in common their focus on cognition, genetics and brain imaging in people dementia, or at risk of dementia. Both paper and electronic records are used, with a secure database and web-based systems for data sharing.
The work is based in the academic Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Herschel Smith Building for Brain and Mind Sciences, and embedded in the Memory Clinics of the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust which provide the opportunity for ongoing clinical experience and revalidation.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 36 months in the first instance.
