Study Start-Up Specialist
Applications are invited for a Study Start-Up Specialist to facilitate efficient set-up of hosted clinical trials. The post will be based in the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine (CECM), Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London. The post holder will be required to visit other local hospital sites regularly.
The successful candidate will be required to proactively build and establish excellent working relationships with Life Science Industry Partners, providing them with a single point of contact service for the CECM. In addition, the post-holder will be required to coordinate the collation of accurate documentation and information for study set-up, conduct portfolio reviews in conjunction with the clinical leads to ensure studies are assessed for feasibility and timelines are being met. This role is expected to assist with the training and supervision of junior staff, this may involve participation in the induction of new staff. Also, the post-holder will be required to provide regular feedback to the management team regarding study progress and any issues that arise regarding the set-up of the clinical trials.
Essential requirements for the post include significant experience of working in a clinical research management environment as well as detailed knowledge of clinical trial development process and clinical trial regulations. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team as well as self-motivation and ability to work flexibly are also essential. Previous experience in an oncology setting or project management/coordination would be an advantage.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Campus in London. It is a full-time post (35 hours / week), fixed-term for 12 months, with an immediate expected start date. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £36,348 to £39,333 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
