The College English Program (CEP) of the Faculty of Liberal Education at Seoul National University is hiring a qualified full-time instructor to teach College English courses for the university’s undergraduate students from Spring 2023. 

Period of Employment

September 1, 2023–August 31, 2024. The contract is renewable. 

Qualifications

  1. Have native or near-native fluency in English
  2. A master’s or higher degree
  3. Four or more years of teaching/research experience at secondary and/or postsecondary level (the time spent for postgraduate degrees [MA, PhD, etc.] will be counted towards teaching/research experience)
  4. Candidates from all areas of specialization will be considered, and preference may be given to those with teaching experience at the college level. 

Job Description

  1. Teaching twelve class hours per week (usually four courses) in each of the two fifteen-week semesters
  2. Teaching one summer or winter session course per year for overtime payment
  3. Performing teaching-related duties requested by the College English Program and participating regularly in faculty meetings and workshops 

Salary

The annual salary starts from 48,000,000 KRW. 

Housing

Full-time instructors with foreign citizenship are eligible to apply for the stay in on-campus apartment. Monthly rent varies between 410,000 KRW (studio apartment) and 650,000 KRW (two-bedroom apartment).

* Title of thesis /dissertation and the name of academic advisor should be stated. Final candidates will be requested to bring the original copies of all the documents submitted (diplomas, transcripts, and official records of employment) to the interview for verification purposes. 

Deadline and Contacts:
