This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced individual to join us in the Faculty of Creative Arts Technologies and Science (CATS) as Head of Quality and Practice. The candidate will work closely with the Executive Dean, our Associate Dean for Student Experience and Recruitment, Heads of School and staff based in Professional Services departments. They will assure the quality of the taught undergraduate and postgraduate provision delivered on campus and by our Collaborative Partners.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator and evidence a successful track record of managing quality assurance. They will provide leadership to inform course development, academic assessment, accreditation by professional bodies and support the development and delivery of objectives defined in our Faculty Strategy Plan. The postholder will join our Faculty Executive Group, Chair our Faculty Teaching Quality and Standards Committee and represent the faculty on university level groups, boards and committees.
The postholder will demonstrate significant experience of working in higher education at a senior level and extensive experience and knowledge of quality assurance in higher education. They will work in close partnership with our Schools and as such, it is important for candidates to have a strong awareness of the academic perspective. They will manage the day-to-day oversight of quality assurance and enhancement ensuring that the highest standards are maintained. They will lead on the annual quality cycle to ensure that timeframes are adhered to maintaining full compliance with our academic regulations, external regulators and professional bodies
The post requires a responsive work ethic to support our diverse operations and markets. This may involve occasional weekend working and travel to UK or international locations in line with the requirements of the post. As a senior appointment in the organisation, the position offers a competitive salary. The position is eligible for enrolment as a member with one of the nationally recognised pension schemes.
