InGAME International is a consortium of games industry stakeholders comprising industry, agencies, and universities brought together to investigate the challenges to, and deliver solutions that support, international collaboration between the videogames sectors in the UK and China. InGAME International began in 2020, and has undertaken projects in two main areas:
These two areas were addressed through 50 interviews with industry professionals and the creation of a small number of demonstrator projects. The demonstrator projects involved international co-production of innovative new products aimed at testing assumptions or exploring new opportunities.
InGAME International is funded by the AHRC under the UK-China Research-Industry Creative Partnerships call. Abertay University is the lead university on the project. Games industry project partners include Outplay, and Beano Studios (UK).

The project now seeks to appoint a Research Fellow/Associate to work collaboratively with the InGAME International investigators to:
We are particularly keen to attract applicants with a track record of research and especially in qualitative/business research, ideally with knowledge of the creative industries.
You will work directly with the InGAME International PI and Co-Is, all of whom are based in the School of Design and Informatics, and others such as industry, agency, and academic partners. The role requires experience of conducting research, ideally in or with (creative) industries, specifically games.
The role requires experience of interpreting research data and synthesizing findings in academic output. Experience of academic writing and practical project documentation is required. The applicant will require excellent interpersonal skills, and high levels of initiative and organisation.
The successful applicant will have an undergraduate or preferably postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline, in the social sciences, business, or creative areas. Ideally, the applicant will have (or be near to completing) a PhD and have experience of working on collaborative projects.
