Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.

InGAME International is a consortium of games industry stakeholders comprising industry, agencies, and universities brought together to investigate the challenges to, and deliver solutions that support, international collaboration between the videogames sectors in the UK and China. InGAME International began in 2020, and has undertaken projects in two main areas:

  • Regulation, Markets, and Consumption
  • Experiences, Technologies, and Production

These two areas were addressed through 50 interviews with industry professionals and the creation of a small number of demonstrator projects. The demonstrator projects involved international co-production of innovative new products aimed at testing assumptions or exploring new opportunities.

InGAME International is funded by the AHRC under the UK-China Research-Industry Creative Partnerships call. Abertay University is the lead university on the project. Games industry project partners include Outplay, and Beano Studios (UK).
