Job description
Peoples Future Limited is a dedicated subsidiary within the Coventry University Group and is looking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Interactive Systems. Working in the School of Computing, Mathematics and Data Science, within the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing, this role will focus on teaching delivery to support the student experience through inspirational teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The post-holder will have detailed knowledge of contemporary pedagogy in relation to the teaching of a wide range of topics in Interactive Systems, but with a particular focus on areas such as Virtual/Augmented Reality, Internet of Things, and 5G systems. The postholder should have demonstrable experience creating engaging, interactive teaching materials, which actively leverage their understanding of interactive media
More broadly, applicants should have skill in at least one object-oriented programming language, familiarity with the technical side of interactive media. Understanding of the principles of User Experience design in the context of interactive media would be welcome
Teaching Fellows will undertake teaching, curriculum development, and course co-ordination supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programs and other core activities, and ensure that students have an effective learning experience
Your skills and attributes for success:
·A Master's degree in an appropriate subject or a good Honors Degree and an appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
·A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education·Experience of academic leadership and effective communication skills
·A contextualised knowledge of pedagogy and innovative teaching methods with the ability to develop these across a team of academic staff.
·Understanding and experience of the principles of curriculum design and development. to the appropriate level role based on their skills and experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing innovation and improvement in pedagogy; those without a teaching qualification will need to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE and/or secure HEA fellowship. Please note that this is a teaching only position
